For the 2023 edition of Frieze Seoul, Galerie Quynh is thrilled to present work by Do Thanh Lang and Will Thurman - two young artists who are among the most original painters of their generation. Both artists make raw, disquieting works that oscillate between bleakness and lightness.
Do Thanh Lang works with acrylic, epoxy resin and plastic to create roughly layered yet dreamy compositions depicting figures that appear frozen in various states of unease. Thurman’s oil paintings belong to an ongoing series called ‘Life Paintings’ and reflect life in all its absurdity, outrageousness, mischievousness and hysteria.
